OLOW Share ("OLOW Share", "the app", "we", "us") is built to move your files directly between your own devices. Your files are never uploaded to us or to any cloud server — every transfer happens on your local network or a direct device-to-device connection. This policy explains what the app accesses, the limited data collected to show ads and keep the app working, and the choices you have.

1. The short version

We do not collect, sell, or upload your files, photos, videos, contacts, or messages.
File transfers run directly between devices on your local Wi-Fi, a direct Wi-Fi connection, or a device hotspot — not through our servers or any cloud.
No account or sign-in is required to use the app.
The app is free and supported by ads served through Google AdMob, which collects limited device and usage data as described below.
A transfer history and your settings are kept only on your device and can be cleared at any time.

2. How file transfers work

OLOW Share transfers files by creating a direct connection between the sending and receiving devices — over your local Wi-Fi network, a direct Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi Direct) link, or a temporary hotspot created by one of the devices. The Web Share feature serves the files from a local web address on your own network so that a nearby device with a web browser (for example an iPhone, computer, or Smart TV) can download them.

In all cases, the file contents travel directly between the devices you choose and stay on your local network. We do not receive, intercept, host, or store the files you send or receive.

Security note: Local transfers and Web Share operate on your local network and are not end-to-end encrypted. We recommend using them on networks you trust and only sharing with devices you recognise. See Security.

3. Information the app accesses on your device

To let you choose and share content, the app reads files and data on your device only, and only when you ask it to. This data is sent to the receiving device you select — it is never sent to us. The app requests the following Android permissions:

All files access / storageUsed by the in-app file browser so you can pick and send documents and files from any folder, and to save files you receive. Access is used solely for sharing files you select; the app does not scan or upload your storage.

ContactsOnly if you choose to share contacts. Selected contacts are exported and sent to the device you pick. Contacts are not uploaded to us or used for advertising.

Location & nearby Wi-Fi devicesRequired by Android to discover and connect to nearby devices over Wi-Fi Direct and hotspot. The app does not use location to track you or for advertising, and does not store your location.

CameraOnly to scan a QR code when pairing two devices. No photos or video are recorded or transmitted.

Install unknown appsOnly so you can install an app (APK) file you have received, with your explicit confirmation. You are always in control of what is installed.

NotificationsTo show transfer progress, completion, and incoming-connection requests.

Network & Wi-Fi stateTo create and manage the local connection used for transfers, and to check connectivity for ads and app configuration.

You can review or revoke these permissions at any time in your device's Settings. Some features will not work without the permission they rely on.

4. Information collected automatically

When you use the app, limited technical information may be collected automatically by our service providers to display ads and keep the app functioning:

Advertising & device identifiers — such as your Android Advertising ID (AAID), and device and app information (device model, operating-system version, language, and coarse usage/diagnostics). Collected by Google AdMob to serve and measure ads. See Advertising.
App configuration & updates — when your device is online, the app may connect to our servers or content-delivery mirrors to fetch its current configuration and update information. These requests involve standard network information such as your IP address (used only to complete the request and not to build a profile of you). File transfers themselves do not require the internet.
Crash & performance data — if enabled by the platform or ad SDK, limited diagnostic data may be collected to help us fix problems.

5. Advertising (Google AdMob)

OLOW Share is free and displays ads through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, AdMob and its partners may collect and process device and usage identifiers (such as the advertising ID) and interaction data, as described in Google's advertising policies and the Google Privacy Policy.

Depending on your region and choices, you may see personalised or non-personalised ads, and where required we will ask for your consent before showing personalised ads. You can:

Reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads (or Google → Ads) on your device;
Opt out of ad personalisation in the same settings; and
Manage consent choices in the app where a consent prompt is provided.

6. Data stored on your device

The following are stored only on your device and are never copied to our servers:

A local transfer history (records of sends and receives, such as file names, sizes, dates, and the device involved);
Your app preferences and settings (for example language, theme, and device name).

You can clear this data at any time from within the app, or by clearing the app's storage in your device Settings.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited situations:

Files you choose to send are transmitted directly to the receiving device you select — not to us.
Service providers — Google AdMob (advertising) and Google Play services process the automatically-collected data described above as our processors, under their own privacy terms.
Legal reasons — we may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the app. Because we do not hold your files or a server-side profile, the information available for such disclosure is very limited.

8. Data retention & deletion

We do not store your files or a personal account, so there is nothing on our side to retain or delete for those. Data kept on your device (transfer history and settings) remains until you clear it or uninstall the app. Advertising data collected by Google is retained and controlled by Google per their policies; use your device's ad settings to reset or limit it. 9. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the app and the limited data it handles. Transfers occur directly between your devices on your local network, which avoids exposing your files to the internet or a third-party server. However, local transfers and Web Share are not end-to-end encrypted, and no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Use the app on networks you trust, approve connection requests only from devices you recognise, and keep your device's own security features enabled.

10. Children's privacy

OLOW Share is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app shows ads, it is not intended for use by children without appropriate supervision. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will address it.

11. Your privacy rights (GDPR / CCPA and similar laws)

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to data portability. You also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights.

EEA/UK (GDPR): our legal bases are your consent (for personalised ads where required) and our legitimate interests (to operate and support a free, ad-supported app). You may withdraw consent at any time via your device ad settings.
California (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell or "share" your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising beyond the ad functionality described here, and you can limit ad personalisation through your device settings.

Because we do not maintain accounts or server-side copies of your data, most personal data is controlled directly on your device or by Google as the advertising provider. To make a request or ask a question, contact us below.

12. International users

The app may be used worldwide. Where our service providers (such as Google) process data, that processing may occur in countries other than your own, subject to those providers' safeguards and privacy terms.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
